I loved this book. It felt, to me, along the same lines as Time Travelers Wife, with a little multi-dimensional element. A haunting story about a wife and mother who woke up from a car accident with her young daughter, only to be told she was the only one in the car.
This story was intriguing, trying to piece together what is real and what is not. Not only is this woman told she does not have a daughter, but she is also no longer with her husband and her life is completely different then she remembers.
Weaving through her mourning the life she no longer has in an old yellow farmhouse with her daughter and loving husband, to her now completely different existing life as a successful artist in a big city. You really feel her struggling to make sense of the memories she has of her non-existent(?) past. The author does a wonderful job of showing this woman aching for an old life with her family in a beloved farmhouse and it makes you want to keep reading long after you should call it a night.
If you like a good storyline, thoughtful characters and a story with a twist give this one a try. Hope you enjoy this first book, “A Day Like This”, by author Kelley McNeil.
