Summer is here and temperatures as well as energy bills are getting higher. We live in an older house (1940’s) and have taken many steps to help control energy loss like new windows, new roof, new insulation. Those fun energy bills keep going up. We live in a house built in the 1940’s. We have original, unfinished oak hardwood floors. They could use a refinish. I have held a love of old houses since 1988. That was the year that my parents moved us four kids to an old country home filled with spacious rooms, timeless charm from the old windows letting in natural light, to the handcrafted stone chimney feature that may have played a part in me falling in love with my current home with large stone wall on one side.
