I've been thinking of starting this blog for years and finally decided to simply jump in.
Just a place to share some stuff that I’m learning, think out loud, and hopefully pass on some helpful ideas.
Thanks for being here.

I feel better when my windows are clean. This rarely happens as we have two furry boys who love to put their nose prints on my newly clean windows. Who can fault them when there are so many birds outside. Welcome to my “Help Around the House” page. I in no way claim to be an expert in this area, but I will gladly pass along any helpful house tidbits that come my way.Read More →
We live in a house built in the 1940’s. We have original, unfinished oak hardwood floors. They could use a refinish. Oh, to rewind the clock to 19 years ago when we first bought this house and refinish these hardwood floors before we moved all of our earthly belonging into its rooms. So many reasons why we did not. Tenants anxious to get into the house we were leaving. By the way, for us it was no fun being a landlord, so glad that is done. We were newly married and saving all of our pennies for the kitchen remodel this house desperately needed (two-toneRead More →
Welcome to my “Currently Reading” page. Okay, it may be a past favorite as well. Sometimes when you read a book, you just want another person to jump into that new world as you did. I read a lot of different types of books. I like to feel hopeful at the end of a story. So, if you’re looking for a serious, sad tale you probably won’t find me writing about it here. Hope you find a few new favorites here, I’m always happy to add a new “to read” to my list.Read More →

If I see a recommendation online or hear about a book that sounds interesting, I usually just screenshot the cover and hope I remember why I saved it later. Not exactly a system… but it works. Many years ago, when my now 15-year-old daughter was still a tiny little thing, I read my very first KateRead More →
I always think I have a favorite season, but when one season blends into another, I am so excited to say “Hello”. This page will be dedicated to those times of year, getting ready to plant some spring plants, a little summer lake time, fall football and chili, and wrapping up the year with beautiful blankets of snow.Read More →
A Budget-Friendly Way to Start Your Garden Spring is slowly waking up, bringing those sneaky warm April days that make you want to plant something — anything. This year, I decided to try growing flowers from seeds for the very first time. Full disclosure: I do not have a green thumb. Not even close. But I’m taking baby steps and learning as I go. And honestly? It’s becoming a little addictive. Starting Small (Because I’m a Beginner) So far, my seed-starting journey has been a mix of hope, trial, and a tiny bit of luck. My marigold seeds? Let’s just say there’s currently one braveRead More →
Incoming dog kisses, cuddly kitties and so much pet hair! Welcome to my Loving Those Pets page. For me, a house is simply not a home without a pet (or 2 or 3….). Hope you enjoy some funny stories, and maybe a few quick “Pointers” along the way.Read More →
