I feel better when my windows are clean. This rarely happens as we have two furry boys who love to put their nose prints on my newly clean windows. Who can fault them when there are so many birds outside. Welcome to my “Help Around the House” page. I in no way claim to be an expert in this area, but I will gladly pass along any helpful house tidbits that come my way.Read More →

We live in a charming 1940s home with original, unfinished oak hardwood floors. And while these floors are full of character, they’re also long overdue for a professional refinishing. If I could rewind the clock about 19 years to when we first bought this house, refinishing the hardwood floors would have been at the top of my home improvement checklist—before moving in all our furniture and life belongings. Welcome to my “Currently Reading” page. Okay, it may be a past favorite as well. Sometimes when you read a book, you just want another person to jump into that new world as you did. I always think I have a favorite season, but when one season blends into another, I am so excited to say “Hello”. This page will be dedicated to those times of year, getting ready to plant some spring plants, a little summer lake time, fall football and chili, and wrapping up the year with beautiful blankets of snow.Read More →

A Budget-Friendly Way to Start Your Garden Spring is slowly waking up, bringing those sneaky warm April days that make you want to plant something — anything. This year, I decided to try growing flowers from seeds for the very first time. Full disclosure: I do not have a green thumb. Not even close. But I’m taking baby steps and learning as I go. And honestly? It’s becoming a little addictive. Starting Small (Because I’m a Beginner) So far, my seed-starting journey has been a mix of hope, trial, and a tiny bit of luck. My marigold seeds? Let’s just say there’s currently one braveRead More →
