School is out and now you get to hang with those fun tweens and teens. 82 days for this family until the start of sophomore year and 7th grade for our kids.

I like a good list, and my older daughter likes to make her own too! I have complied a fun Summer Bucket List of ideas for these older kiddos this summer.

Hope you find a few that make your summer a little more fun.

Outdoor Adventures

  • Go on a sunrise or sunset hike. Or just a simple wake up for the sunrise with a yummy cup of cocoa and donut.
  • Host a backyard BBQ for family and friends
  • Try paddleboarding or kayaking
  • Plan a camping adventure, even if it’s just in the backyard
  • Visit a Water Park or Amusement Park
  • Try out a new sport; Pickleball, Skateboarding, Ultimate Frisbee (this one could be fun for the adults too)

Water Fun

  • Have a water balloon fight
  • Go swimming at a lake, beach, or pool
  • Make a DIY slip n’ slide (this one big on my teens bucket list)

Creative Projects

  • Tie-dye shirts, beach towels
  • Make a summer scrapbook, photo journal
  • Redecorate your room

At Home Chill Days

  • Binge watch a movie series (Marvel, Pirates of Caribbean, Harry Potter)
  • Host a themed sleepover
  • Make homemade ice cream or popsicles
  • Bake something new each week (cookies, cake, pie)
  • Do a board game challange
  • Build a puzzle

Just for Fun Challenges

  • 24 hour no phone challenge (good luck to all!)
  • Create a vision board for upcoming school year
  • Daily photo challenge (1 photo a day for 30 days, etc.)
  • Random acts of kindness week
  • Yes day (my kids would LOVE this!)

Music and Vibes

  • Create a summer playlist
  • Go to a local concert or music festival
  • Host a backyard karaoke party

Personal Growth and Learning

  • Learn to cook 3 meals from scratch
  • Start a small business or Etsy shop (jewelry, craft, etc.)
  • Volunteer at an animal shelter or food bank (we have a great non-profit movie theater near us!)
