A family member lost her dog way too young a week ago. Six years is never enough time with a beloved fur baby. My husband and I have had three beautiful English Setter souls that are no longer with us, and each one was hard to let go of.
It’s so hard to know how to make someone feel better when they lose a pet. Some people will say some nonsense about it only being an animal. To me, that could not be farther from the truth.
When the last of our original three setters passed away, just shy of 18 years old, we planned to take a little break from having a dog in the house. I work from home, and it was way too quiet without the comfort of a loyal dog around the house. It lasted two weeks.
I have no real way to make this family member feel better about their loss. I do understand that sadness. These silly, loyal, loving pets are such a blessing and it is so hard to say those final goodbyes.
I wanted to share some sweet quotes that touch on the joy these fur babies add to our lives.

I hope you enjoyed these quotes, now go hug your sweet pets!
