I have held a love of old houses since 1988. That was the year that my parents moved us four kids to an old country home filled with spacious rooms, timeless charm from the old windows letting in natural light, to the handcrafted stone chimney feature that may have played a part in me falling in love with my current home with large stone wall on one side.
We really had no idea how lucky we were (perhaps my parents did). This house we rented for four happy years was surrounded by 480 acres and many lakes. Including a 40+ acre lake in viewing distance just down a hill from the double casement window in the bedroom I shared with my little sister. We spent summers listening to oldies music on the old wooden dock down by the lake and the winters hearing country music while trying to stay warm in that beloved old house on a hill.
Fast forward 18 years, my new husband and I purchasing after two attempted offers our quaint, stone sided bungalow on a hill overlooking a 2-acre pond. I would imagine that many of my home-based posts will be about this sweet, old house of ours.
Welcome to my blog, where I hope you feel at home and maybe learn a few things along the way (me too).

I grew up in an old house. It definitely has its charms.
I agree!
I reflect back to those days often! 💕
We had the very best childhood in the coolest spot. Big time blessed.
